Description Design

The treatment place of the future is a space that offers a feeling of security, through warm and neutral color and use of materials, and is accessible due to the degree of transparency that has been provided. An accessible meeting place that can reduce the pressure on the current healthcare system. By putting people first and answering the needs and wishes of the client, a safe atmosphere is created where connection between client, practitioner and like-minded people is facilitated. To create that connection we need to destigmatize, we can achieve this by introducing a new way of working. By disconnecting and restructuring the current functions within mental health institutions, the distance between clients and practitioners is reduced. The waiting area, located in the heart of the practice, also serves as a meeting room. Where meetings can take place between like-minded people, peer supports, experienced experts and practitioners. The treatment room is the treatment room; a flashy workplace with sit-stand desks is deliberately not used in this room, which can be found elsewhere in the building. This new way of working is necessary so that not only the client is vulnerable, but also the practitioner. Not opposite each other, but next to each other, only then will a connection be created between client and practitioner, because without connection there is no treatment.

About MADE-Life Foundation

We are committed to the advancement of mental health of children, young adults in the Netherlands and beyond. We do this by organising 'challenges' that innovate, inspire and inform in every possible way. These challenges act as a flywheel for the much needed changes in the mental health space.
